You may start noticing a trend in the next few weeks. I am going to wax poetic about another Mama Pea recipe. She’s not even paying me for all this good press!

I was super excited to see not only a spicy peanut stew recipe, but a SLOW COOKER spicy peanut stew recipe. I love my slow cooker almost as much as I love my electric frying pan. (The two sexiest kitchen appliances, right?) I assembled the ingredients, threw them all in and turned up to High. 30 minutes later, I went back and turned it on Low. Or….well…I thought I turned it on Low. When I checked on it an hour later, I was surprised at how low my Low was but I went back to work and thought nothing of it.

Manatee got home two hours later. He looked at the slow cooker and looked at me, puzzled: “Are we going to eat this tonight?” My shackles went up and I replied: “Yes, we are and it’s going to be awesome.” (See Mama Pea, I totally defended you).

He looked back at the slow cooker. “Well,” he said, “then why is it turned off?”

Yup. I turned it off.

I think there was some stomping around and clashing of pans. (I always respond to these things with a lot of maturity.) Then I turned it back on and decided it would be a late night snack.

It was totally worth the drama. Peanut butter meets cinnamon meets tomato equals warm, spicy goodness. I topped it a scoop of Greek yogurt and chopped chives. I found some whole grain naan at the store and I am pretty sure this is going to be a regular meal at the Badger Girl and Manatee household this Fall.

Click here for the recipe. I didn’t add any sweeteners to mine but it’s totally up to your taste buds.

Enjoy! And if you haven’t already, check out the Peas and Thank You blog. Tell Mama Pea that Badger Girl sent you.
