It’s been awhile since I have updated you on the garden.
The plants haven’t died yet.
This is great news and I want to enjoy it as long as possible.
I think we have also finally reached the point of no more purchases. With close to 50 containers, I think that things may be starting to get out of hand. This is not entirely my fault. Manatee was upset that we didn’t have any pepper plants so on our latest trip to Jung’s, I sent him off to pick out some peppers.
He came back with 10 plants.
We now have a mix of poblano, jalapeno, habenero, and just plain spicy peppers.
In other news, things are starting to grow. These tomato plants were seedlings when I bought them. It’s exciting to know that I am doing something right. They are getting huge and starting to bear fruit.
The second round of lettuce that I planted from seed is starting to fill out their containers.
And the spaghetti squash seeds are growing at record pace.
I need to transplant them soon. This is always hard for me. I know that the plants are too big to share a container but they are growing so well and I am always afraid I will ruin it by moving them.
Wish me luck!

How is your garden growing?

Your garden looks great. I grow certain things in containers as well as in the ground. My garden is coming along but I don’t have any fruit on my tomatoes yet. Good job!

looking good! Don’t worry about transplanting, I always think of it as giving the plants “leg room” as they’re roots will otherwise be all squished in the pot. Just mound the dirt up around the plant and make a little trench in a circle around the plant to hold the water in after watering. If your worried you could even give them a little plant food to help the roots grow. They’ll love it!
