To make up for the mass zucchini-cide of late, I saved some plants from eminent destruction. While having dinner with friends this past weekend, he told me he was trying to kill some plants in his greenhouse. My cape came out and I demanded to take plants home with me.
Okay, so actually I asked politely if I could have them if they were going to die anyway. That’s just not dramatic enough to atone my zucchini killing sins.
I adopted over a dozen of pepper plants and three cherry tomato plants. We are not totally sure what is what in terms of the pepper plants. I think that we will end up with serrano, chile, jalapeno, sweet bell and poblano peppers.
While I was feeling ambitious, I also picked up two varieties of eggplant and new herb plants (sage, thyme, oregano and mint). The oregano was a gift from a friend. Thanks April!
Not to be outshone by the newbies, my original plants are starting to bear fruit.
