After 17 weeks, I think the CSA may have finally conquered me. I think I want to hire this company to take over my CSA share for me. Yes, even Badger Girl can be broken.

I miss my zucchini, tomatoes, and eggplants. It’s not necessarily the fault of the CSA but just trouble dealing with the transition into Fall. Especially when Fall produce consists of more huge beets and a squash that doesn’t look very familiar. And would you believe I was actually excited when I thought the beets were swiss chard? See how much I have grown?

Well, here is what we got:

I still have the beet as big as my head in the fridge. Seriously people, what are you doing with these beets? Is anyone else intimidated by them?

And yes, we have another bag of potatoes. I was proud because we had gotten it down to one and half bags. I think the Vermont Valley farmers are laughing at me. More potato soup and french fries will be on the menu for next week. I have a sinking feel that the days of potatoes are not over for me yet. I am beginning to wonder how long they will stay good in my pantry…

Vermont Valley told us we can treat the yellow and green striped squash as a sweet potato. I am feeling doubtful but will try it and report back. I think I remember them from last year and I think I remember liking them.

I am going to attribute some of my inclinations to hide under my desk instead of facing the CSA due to the marathon I am running this weekend. I am just hoping to survive people! Let’s hope I return invigorated and with a renewed sense of confidence when facing with produce. Until then, I would love to hear what you plan to do with this week’s share.
