I promised notes, pics, and recipes from our last party, and here they are just in time for your NYE bashes. But first, I want to tell you a little about my New Year, New You January Giveaways.

Badger Girl Giveaways

In January, I will be doing New Year, New You Giveaways. In honor of recently becoming a BeachBody coach and New Year’s Resolutions, I will be giving away a kitchen gadget or tool that will help you be healthier in 2012. On Monday, I will post what the weekly prize will be that week. You can enter by following me on Twitter, liking me on Facebook, joining my group of Google Connect friends, or leaving a comment. You can also enter by referring other people to the site.  You can enter multiple times.

On every Friday, I will announce the weekly winner.

What will I be giving away? Four awesome prizes that will help you achieve a healthier you. All of the prizes will be things that Manatee and I use and love on a regular basis.

Four weeks, four great prizes, four winners, and one great way to beat the post-holiday blues!

Notes from a Party

No knead bread, how I love thee? Olive and Crusty White
If you want to bake bread but don’t want to get your hands dirty (or retain some semblance of sanity when making bread), then you must buy this book.

This is the set up. Note the notecards in each dish. And yes, I totally forgot about some of them after the guests had arrived. Oops.

Awesome Vegan Fruitcake that I received from the Fruitcake Exchange. Yum!

This was Manatee’s ingenious idea when I realized our Vegan Chocolate Fondue was not going to happen. We still put out our dippers but with a new label. We figured the kids would love it but to be honest, I think Manatee and I polished off most of the tray.

Thank you Ina Garten for your awesome appetizer idea.

Sausage and cucumbers = no need for a cheese tray.

This picture does not do these nuts justice. Sweet and Spicy Sesame Walnuts are one of my favorite, easy holiday treats.

Also want to point out the little notecard in the corner: I included all the ingredients on the labels so people could see what they were eating. That went over really well with our guests!

Are you really surprised that we had two veggie trays???

What I love about veggie trays (other than all the yummy veggies) is that you can totally use the leftovers. We made a great stir fry the next night with our leftover veggies. So easy because the cutting is done for you!

And here is the sleeper hit of the party, the #1 appetizer, the underdog of underdogs…..

Tofu Dippers

Surprised? Because we were surprised. I made these so I could eat them and then everyone went and decided they loved tofu.  Who knew?

This is a variation of my favorite lunchtime treat. I spiced up my normal recipe by sauteing the pressed tofu in a mix of infused garlic oil, toasted sesame seed oil, grapeseed oil, and crushed red pepper. Yum! So good!

I can’t even count how many people told me, “I didn’t even think I LIKED tofu.”

I will definitely be making this again! As with my lunch recipe, I served it with spicy peanut sauce and blanched broccoli.

What was your favorite party treat in 2011?
