Happy Healthy Blogger Thursday!

This week I want to introduce to another Wisconsin blogger, runner, and BeachBody fanatic. In other words, we have a lot in common. Kinley’s blog, Better Off Barefoot, focuses on running and she also does Insanity which is a BeachBody workout. For those of you who don’t know, I am a BeachBody coach so I get excited when other people are excited about my favorite workouts.

She’s running a marathon this weekend, so make sure to wish her luck!

Without further adieu, heeerrrreeee’s Kinley!

Hello Badger Girl Readers! My name is Kinley and I blog over at Better off Barefoot. Like Kimberly, I am a Wisconsin native and am very interested in keeping active and healthy! Thank you to Kimberly for this chance to be a guest on her blog today. If you would like to know a little more about me… just keep reading!

I was never interested in sports in school. I could hardly run the mile in gym class… and I am pretty sure it took me a good 15 minutes and I was convinced those who ran it in 6 something were just lying about that time (or cheating) 🙂 To be honest, I am STILL not very interested in sports… not even football (shh… don’t tell all the Packer fans in this state!) but in the past few years, I have developed a big passion for running. And running longer than a mile surprisingly! I don’t recall having an ah ha moment that started my running hobby but I know it was something that started out small and has continued to grow and grow! Running is really quite addictive!

One of my life ambitions is to run a marathon. I have attempted to train for a marathon once before and things did not quite go as I had hoped and therefore I ended up running the half marathon at that event instead. It was my first official half marathon and made me realize I still had a lot of room to grow as a runner… fast forward a few years and I am now DAYS out from actually running my first FULL marathon! The last few weeks of training have totally flown and I am in complete denial that I will be running 26.2 miles on May 20th in Green Bay at the Cellcom Marathon. But I am?! So far, my blog has mainly been my outlet for all my running related tangents but after my marathon is over, I am planning to take a short break from running for a while and instead devote a little more time to another fitness pastime I have recently developed… Insanity! I first bought the DVDs back in October and was hooked immediately 🙂 But due to training for race after race after race these past few months, I have not been able to dedicate as much time as I would like to Shaun T! I am kind of excited to switch gears for a little and see what Insanity can do for me! I love running and wish I could run every single day but I know there are other things out there and now is my chance to explore them! You never know when by opening up your fitness repertoire you might just find your new favorite workout activity! So if you have never tried running or you have never tried Insanity, I encourage you to give one or the other a shot! You might just fall in love as bad as I have 🙂

If you want to see how my marathon goes, check out my blog next week for the recap. Also, please help me change the weather to be 70 degrees and sunny on Sunday! The forecast keeps getting warmer and rainier… ahhh! Thanks again for having me, Kimberly!
